About me
Amy J. Guilmette received her MFA in Choreography from the University of Michigan. She holds a BS in Dance Education K-12 and a BS in English Secondary Education from Wayne State University. Guilmette is building a district-wide Dance Program for Oak Park Schools in Oak Park, MI. Over the last four years, Guilmette has trained with Molly Shanahan and received teacher certification in Spiral Body Techniques. Guilmette wrote an Associate of Liberal Arts in Dance degree for Henry Ford College where she previously taught dance technique, choreography, Pilates and Yoga courses, and was the Artistic Director for the Full Circle Dance Company. In addition to being an educator, Ms. Guilmette danced professionally with Mack Avenue Dance Company and has presented her choreography in a MADC concert, at the Oakland Dance Festival, the American College Dance Festival, the Dance in the Mitten Festival, Men, Men, Men, curated by Peter Sparling at the University of Michigan, Kristi Faulkner’s Assemble and Women’s Work, and with Danse Theatre Surreality in Paris, France.
