About me
Dana Brewer has been teaching for more than 20 years. She earned a BS in Education from Central Michigan University and a Master's in Teaching from Marygrove College. Throughout her career she has built both dance and theater programs. This is her 13th year at Oxford High School where she is the Director of the academic dance program, which she has been developing since 2014. The program includes a foundational course, International Baccalaureate (IB) course, and a conservatory course designed for students who are interested in pursing dance as a career. Oxford High School awarded her as Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026. Her work was selected to be showcased at the 2025 Oakland Dance Festival. Dana is also the choreographer for the Oxford musical and received recognition at the 2026 Sutton Foster Awards. For most of her career, Dana taught English in addition to dance, which has heavily influenced her artistic vision.
